Riyadh – Mubasher: Arabian Drilling extended a one-year deal for all 11 gas land rigs with SLB, with a total contract value between 15% to 20% of the company’s 2024 revenues.

During the second quarter (Q2) of 2025, the company announced the renewal of six rigs, securing a total backlog intake of over SAR 2.40 billion, according to a press release.

SLB, which owns 34.30% of Arabian Drilling, has affirmed its continued trust in Arabian Drilling’s ability to fulfil gas LSTK drilling contracts in the past years.

This agreement reflects the essential need for these rigs and highlights Arabian Drilling’s service quality.

Ghassan Mirdad, CEO of Arabian Drilling, commented: "This extension reinforces our market position as a preferred partner in the energy sector.”

He added: “Extending the contract confirms our commitment to excellence and strategic insight, which are crucial in maintaining valuable, long-term partnerships within the industry.”

As of 1 January 2025, Arabian Drilling had 24 rigs due for contract renewal in 2025. With this extension, the group has two remaining rig contracts subject to renewal this year.
